Work Projects

We have several work projects that need done. Some of the projects will need a few people with expertise in Plumbing, Back Hoe operation, Floor Sanding, Bridge Rebuilding, etc. We also will need help with some Painting, Electrical work, and Roof repair.

Any member with time and equipment to help with these projects can contact Tim Merritts @ 946-9315 or email timmerhite@aol.com for more information.

Fish Pond

Please remember that the fishpond is open until October 31st for FLY FISHING only using barbless hooks only, Noon till Dusk. Please see rules posted at the Pond. We are taking comments to see what our members think about the use and rules of this pond.

Please drop us a line or email timmerhite@aol.com.

Muzzleloader Shoot

The PA Company of Riflemen will be having a benefit shoot on August 14th & 15th.

Ladies Auxiliary

The Ladies Auxiliary is in need of new members. They meet the first Thursday of the month at the same time as the club membership meeting. The auxiliary is responsible for the food and games, including Bingo at the Ox Roast, as well as serving lunch on major workdays. The money from the children’s games (fish pond & dime toss) is used for a Children’s Halloween Party and Family Christmas Party. If you, your spouse, or older children would be interested in helping at the Ox Roast or attending either party contact Jean Neely @ 942-4311 or Sharon Merritts @ 946-9315.

Newsletter Advertising

In an attempt to offset the cost of mailing and printing, we are looking for advertisers for the newsletter. We publish a quarterly newsletter that reaches approx. 1100 members.

The cost of a business card size ad is $30.00.

Small bargain counter ads for $5.00 are also available.

Habitat Improvement Project

Thanks to all the people that have helped. We will be working throughout the Fall cutting Striped Maple trees and cutting the clover. We also will be spraying areas to help control the Ferns.

We also have put in a small watering hole on the new property and added another food plot above the muzzleloader range. If anyone is up to a stroll in the woods, walk up the road to the Beagle Club gate and turn right. Follow the trail and you will see the food plots and watering hole that has been installed.

A lot of work will be involved to make this program successful. If you would like to help, please put your name on the sign-up sheet at the Club or contact Tim Merritts @ 946-9315 or email at timmerhite@aol.com.

Club Road

Please be careful when traveling up and down the Club road. During a heavy rain in June, some of the road was washed out. We have been working on repairing the surface, but we still have some work to do. Also, we have several small children living in the house at the end of the road, so please slow down and watch for the kids!

Fundraising

Members, please be advised the first Hoss’s Fundraising day generated $130.93. Thanks to those members who went to Hoss’s on Father’s Day for dining and helping raise the funds for the club.

Our next Hoss’s Day for fundraising will be on Sunday September 12, 2010. Tickets will be available at the Club, during the Ox Roast and by contacting the officers. There will also be a certificate available by email that can be used. This email certificate can be sent upon request to the Treasurer Tom Morgan at tmorgan3900@atlanticbb.net.
